Salamanders are nocturnal animals, so they are most active at night and typically sleep during the day. They often seek out dark, damp places to rest, such as under rocks, logs, or in burrows. Some species of salamanders may also bury themselves in the soil or hide in vegetation to sleep. During their resting period, salamanders may enter a state of torpor, where their metabolic rate decreases and they become less active to conserve energy. **

Salamanders are best kept in a terrarium or aquarium with a secure lid to prevent escape. The enclosure should have a substrate of moist soil, moss, or bark to maintain humidity. It's important to provide hiding spots, such as rocks or logs, and a shallow water dish for drinking and soaking. Salamanders also require a consistent temperature and humidity level, so a heat source and regular misting may be necessary. Additionally, their diet typically consists of small insects and invertebrates, which should be offered regularly. Regular monitoring of the enclosure and proper handling are also important for the well-being of the salamanders. **
